2. For our final task we have to do a horror film opening, this means
we would need to use text for our film title, credits and we deicide
to write the date and time on the screen. The theme of our film is
horror so we decide to use a text to represent horror yet we
researched into other fonts just to make sure we were going in the
right route. For the fonts we looked on a website www.dafont.com,
here we looked into many fonts and tried out many including block
capitals to swirley writing.
3. This is our first font called some lines, we thought it was very
bold on in your face and stands out. We feel as though it sort
of gives the mysterious effect as there looks like there is many
layers to the font, it also shows different tones as some lines
are darker than others and even though I think it looks good
in black and white if we changed it to the colour red I feel like
it wouldn’t look quite right which Is why in the end we didn’t
chose it as I also think it suits the genre horror but I don’t
think it will suit our sub-genre of more physiological
4. This is another font we used called Zombified, I feel this suits
the genre horror but It is not right for our film as its too bold,
big and messy. As it is quite hard to read as there are little
black dots dotted in and around it. I also feel if we changed
the colour of this font to the colour red which we hope to use
for our final font for the title it would not look right as it
would look to messy and gory but our film is not a gory and
bloody film.
5. This is another font called face your fears, this is also a font
which fits the horror theme as I feel it is more appropriate
then the other ones but I feel that it looks to scary and creepy
for our film. As even thought the font could look like the girl
who Is one of the main characters has smeared blood as we
would change the colour to red we didn’t use it in the end as
we felt like it was too bold and took too much attention away
from the rest of the action.
6. This is the next font Scratch Kit, this font it very good and fits
with the sub genre of our film Physiological, yet I feel this was
too small for the main title as you wouldn’t be about to see it
very well as it wouldn’t b bold enough to catch someone's
eyes so we were going to use it for the credits but it was really
hard to read on top of the film as there was no colour to have
the font that was easy to read so in the end we didn’t use this
font at all.
7. In the end this is the font we used for our main title and the
credits, this font is called ‘Trajan pro’ we liked this font as it
had a horror feel to it and it was bold enough to be clear to
read. Also this font went from the colour red to white which
gave it a mysterious feel and also could represent the girl in
our film as she always wears a white dress yet she is evil. But
as for the credits we had it in white so it would stand out
against the film.
